Caravan takes its name from the ancient caravan routes that passed from Mirage in the south, through the Fell Coast and Risk to Miremakfall (a city that fell to ruins some 50 years before Karsepolis due to a ravaging plague). Of Miremakfall little is left (its ruins were used to build Lays, Salmonelis and Fang), the caravan routes to Mirage are long dead and the city of Risk has been ruined, rebuilt and ruined several times over – and yet Caravan still stands. What once was a city of merchants is now a city of farmers who till and tend to one of the only strips of lushly fertile land in the north.
